The Elitist Debating Tool

Have you ever wanted to tell a conservative they’re full of shit but didn’t know all the facts to back up your remarks? Well now you can.

A major problem I’ve had debating issues has been recalling facts. If you watch any of New Left Media’s Videos you’ll see that conservatives (and especially Tea Party/Glenn Beck supporters) are unable to tie their position back to issues, facts or defend their philosophy on economics or politics. Many people are misinformed.

The volume of nonfactual and emotion-based talking points coming out of conservative talk shows, and their synchronization, demands new tools for debating.

There are some media sources that take on these talking points. Sources such as The Daily Show, The Colbert Report and Media Matters are bastions of debate. However, these sources of fact (and mockery) are not always immediately available for sourcing, when it matters most at the moment of debate.

I want to make this app as a tool for liberals to use to shine a light on lies being spread (and mock them). I imagine this application as being a quick and easy way to get the facts and progress conversations in whatever way you’d like. Either mock the person, lead them to the facts, or claim they are beyond help. It’s up to you!

Of course just simply having a smartphone that runs applications is elitist. I suggest embracing it, become educated and well-informed. Let’s make this iPhone app!

What’s left to do? A lot. We need a official designer, someone who can add some personality to this idea. We also need a source of information, an organization that has started collecting and categorizing these talking points. If you or someone you know can help out let me know.
