Weekend Demo
“A demo for Nexagon Deathmatch has been released, offering a sample of Strategy First’s real-time tactical game of arena combat set in the 44th century. The demo features two levels and two pre-made armies, along with support for user-created armies. The 201 MB download has been mirrored on 3D Gamers, FileFront, Gamer’s Hell, IGN, and Loadedinc.”
Here is what some Blue’s News posters have been saying:
Demo isn’t bad, but it is not my type. It was different for sure.
Thanks for the pointer. I have heard that the game can be pretty hard at first - it’s fast paced and pretty hectic at times, especially for a tactical game.
I’m enjoying the demo well enough. Some of the pathfinding needs some tweakng, but I must applaud the decision to make the current paths visible whenver you select a unit - it makes a big diference to be able to see which path your units are going to take so you can immediately know whether you need to re-issue your orders.
I like the limited time pause option, allows the greater control which comes from pausing but also keeps the pace of the game up.
The whole feel for the game is fun too, with the announcer’s comments, the crowd cheering etc. But I would have liked some more sound-bytes from the announcer, his current vocabularly gets exhausted rather quickly.
