‘Reggie’ Predicts Wii Online by Early 07 and More

Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime recently gave an interview to MTV News and disclosed some upcoming dates for the Wii.

• Before Christmas 06 - “special” surprise via WiiConnect 24
• Very Early 2007 - Online Play - Pokemon Battle Revolution (?)
• January 2007 - Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, Wii Play
• March 2007 - Mario Party 8
• Between March and December 2007 - Mario Galaxy

Nintendo of America’s President also had this to say about the possibility of a Goldeneye on the Nintendo Wii:

“Would I love to see it on virtual console? Absolutely. But there are a lot of issues there,” said Reggie. “Suffice it to say we would love to see it, so we’re exploring all the rights issues.”

In addition, Reggie fielded questions about the lack of meaty titles for the winter, a concern of many Wii owners. He says to wait for Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, Wii Play and Mario Party 8 however, none of these titles are substantial either. It looks like we’ll be waiting for quite a while before we can put away Zelda.
